Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatments are performed when a tooth has an infection in the pulp and there is a good prognosis for a crown to restore the tooth.

Occlusal Guard or Night Guard

Occlusal guard or night guard treatment and prevention is often used for conditions like bruxism or TMJ Bruxism. This is the clenching and grinding of your teeth, which can cause headaches, jaw pain, accelerated wear and abrasion of tooth structure, and even fracturing of teeth and restorations.

Emergency Dental Care

Emergency dental care involves evaluating and treating dental pain or broken teeth. The visit typically consist of a limited exam done by the dentist, an X-ray or intraoral picture of the tooth or problem area, and then treatment as recommended by the dentist.

Nutrition Education

For patients at Bluestem Health, we offer healthy living and weight management counseling improve your overall health through our nutrition education services– free of charge to our patients. Our patient education team includes a Certified Diabetes Educator and Nutritionist, Chronic Disease Nurses, and a Licensed Practical Nurse that functions as our Community Health Worker.

Diabetes Education

Our Certified Diabetes Educators work in partnership with your Bluestem Health provider to help you successfully manage all aspects of your diabetes, like eating healthfully, staying active, and reducing risk factors.

Chronic Disease Management

We offer our patients extra support in managing their chronic illnesses. We spend time meeting with individual patients to offer education on treatments, talking about alternative therapies, and helping them understand their chronic disease so that they can make healthy lifestyle choices.

Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is helpful in maintaining teeth health and avoiding infections and pain. Restorative dentistry includes treatments like fillings, root canals, and crowns.

Breastfeeding and Lactation Education

At Bluestem Health in Lincoln, Nebraska, we believe breast is best. Breastfeed your baby if you are able. We are here to support you with breastfeeding and lactation consulting.

Tooth Extraction

When a tooth can’t be saved by a restorative procedure, such as; a root canal, crown, or filling it needs to be extracted. A tooth extraction is typically done on a tooth that has been broken or damaged by decay. At Bluestem Health a tooth extraction should not be a painful experience.

Preventive Dentistry

Preventative dentistry includes many things, such as sealants, fluoride applications, full cleanings, x-rays, polishing and exams.

Dental X-Rays

Dental x-rays are a diagnostic and preventive tool used by our Bluestem Health providers to ensure we give the the highest quality dental care. 

Periodontal Treatment

A diagnosis for dental bone loss is called periodontal disease. Periodontal treatment includes: scaling and root planing, antibiotics, measurement and tracking of gum pocket depths, and follow-ups.

Marketplace Healthcare Insurance

The Healthcare Marketplace is a place where you can apply for private insurance, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). At Bluestem Health we are happy to assist our patients with questions and applying for insurance through the Healthcare Marketplace.

Aid to Dependent Children (ADC)

Aid to Dependent Children (ADC) is a Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) cash assistance program for low income families with children. ADC is funded by the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.

Medicaid

As a Federally Qualified Health Center, Bluestem Health participates in Nebraska’s Medicaid Program. We offer a variety of health services and we are happy to serve Medicaid patients.

Medicare

There are several Medicare health insurance options. Our patient support specialists at Bluestem Health can answer any Medicare questions that you may have. We want you to know that we value our Medicare patients and we have six locations for your convenience. All of our locations accept Medicare insurance.

X-Ray Access

Our Kreshel Clinic offers full scope care including x-ray services access to all Bluestem Health patients from all clinics and on-site x-ray for Kreshel Clinic patients.

Pediatric Care

Our physicians know it is important to work together with parents and caregivers to set your child up for a healthy lifetime. We provide wellness care and routine check-ups, same-day visit to help your family get healthy, receive routine immunizations, and be informed.

Well-child Exams

A well-child visit is a complete physical exam performed by our providers to track your child’s growth and development in order to find or prevent problems. The child’s height, weight, and other information are recorded. Hearing, vision, and other screenings may also be done.

Contraception

We have compassionate providers who care about you and your family and your future, especially when it comes to family planning. Bluestem Health offers a variety of contraceptive services. Our providers will discuss the contraception options available so that you can decide what will work best for you and your family.

Telehealth

Telehealth provides online doctor visits and consults via secure video. We know that being seen by a provider in-person is always the best option, however telehealth is a great alternative especially in crisis.

Lab Testing

We provide an array of lab testing services directly within its four family medicine clinics. For specific tests, laboratory work may need to be outsourced to a partnering company.

Obstetric Care

Our comprehensive obstetric services include prenatal care during pregnancy, child birth, and newborn and postpartum care. Utilizing an integrated healthcare model, we provide extensive services from prenatal care to lifelong health support.

Routine Visits

Scheduling routine visits with your primary care provider is highly recommended to give us a baseline and ensure personalized care.

Acute Care

Acute conditions considered brief but severe illnesses, such as colds and flu, and may occur during recovery from surgery.

We have on-site pharmacies for all Bluestem Health patients located in our Kreshel and Health 360 clinics. Our team of pharmacists have extensive experience and work hard to make you feel comfortable in our care.

Behavioral Health

Bluestem Health takes an integrated approach to behavioral healthcare. The Medical and Behavioral Health providers at Bluestem Health in Lincoln are passionate about helping people who suffer from behavioral health conditions and complications.

Medicaid and Medicare

At Bluestem Health, we welcome all patients, including those with Medicare for insurance and those insured through Nebraska’s Medicaid Program. Our commitment is to provide you with easily accessible, high-quality, integrated health services when and where you need them.

SNAP Assistance

Our patient support team is here to help patients access resources to promote health and wellness that they may not know about or have access to, like SNAP. SNAP assistance offers supplemental assistance for nutrition to individuals with low-income and families going through difficult financial times.

Medication Access Program, MAP

The providers at Bluestem Health often refer patients who are uninsured or without prescription coverage to the Support Services Team to discuss the Medication Access Program (MAP) when they see a patient who can’t afford their medications.

Sliding Fee Discount

The most common reason people contact Support Services at Bluestem Health is because they want to know if they can get assistance paying for their healthcare or a discount in the services offered at Bluestem Health. Many people are surprised to find that they can qualify for assistance. The sliding fee discount can be applied to co-pays, deductibles not met, share-of-cost amounts, co-insurance, and services not covered by a patient’s plan.
