Dental X-Rays
Dental x-rays, or dental radiographs, are used to detect many complications.
- The main use is to allow the clinician to see things they may not be able to see with the naked eye.
- Bitewing x-rays are taken once a year for each patient – to diagnose cavities that hide in between the teeth.
- Periapical x-rays determine any discrepancies within the bone or around the root of a tooth.
- Specific x-rays can be obtained to send to a patient’s insurance company to gain authorization for treatment.
Dental x-rays are a diagnostic and preventive tool used by our Bluestem Health providers to ensure we give the highest quality dental care.
