Dental X-Rays

Dental x-rays, or dental radiographs, are used for a multitude of purposes.

• The main use is to allow the clinician to see things they may not be able to see with the naked eye.
• Bitewing x-rays are taken once a year for each patient – to diagnose cavities that hide in between the teeth.
• Periapical x-rays allow the clinical to determine any discrepancies within the bone or around the root of a tooth.
• Specific x-rays can be obtained to be able to send to a patients insurance company to gain authorization for treatment.

Dental x-rays are a diagnostic and preventive tool used by our Bluestem Health providers to ensure we give the the highest quality dental care.
