Fillings
Filling a tooth is the process of fixing a cavity or chip in a tooth. The goal is to restore the original function and appearance of the tooth. Different kinds of filling materials are used depending on the kind of filling and the specific needs of the patient.
Root Canals
Root canal treatments are performed when a tooth has an infection in the pulp and there is a good prognosis for a crown to restore the tooth. Root canals on teeth with two or fewer roots can be done in our office, but teeth with three or more roots that need a root canal are referred to an endodontist, who has more specialized instruments and resources.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are placed when a tooth has had a root canal or is heavily restored. Crowns can take anywhere from 2 to 4 appointments, in which we prepare the tooth for the crown and then we place the crown permanently. The crown is fabricated at the Dental Designs lab which creates Zirconia, porcelain, and non-noble metal crowns. Crowns are submitted to a patient’s insurance before we proceed with the procedure to ensure it will be covered, or to inform the patient of their out-of-pocket cost.
