Brad Meyer’s tenure as CEO in September 2014 marked a critical moment for our organization. With a single location, 85 dedicated employees, 9,300 patients, and a budget of $7.2 million, Bluestem Health had the groundwork for success. The path forward, however, required strategic decisions and our CEO’s vision for transformative growth to propel us to a new level.
Under Brad’s stewardship, we have flourished. Today, we have four clinics – and an administrative office – serving over 22,000 patients with a team of 180 dedicated professionals. We’ve also grown financially; in 2023, we generated over $24 million in revenue. The revenue growth isn’t just about the bottom line, according to Brad, “We’ve significantly reduced our dependence on federal and state grants, which now only constitute 7% of our revenue.”
Brad’s vision extends beyond numbers; it encompasses a commitment to providing value-based services accessible to all. Through strategic initiatives like nurse-led cultural centers, partnerships with hospitals, and free diabetic education, we’re able to provide services that positively impact the community of Lincoln. “We have certified diabetic educators who meet with our patients, liaisons who connect with the hospital case managers and discharge planners, a nurse who works with cultural centers, and more – all offered at minimal or no charge,” says Brad.
Our skilled staff focuses on delivering high-quality care, ensuring every patient receives personalized attention. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Brad’s leadership initiatives emphasize inclusivity and community impact.
